I was seeking an energy efficient, adjustable desk lamp for my antique roll top desk. This particular desk lamp worked out very well for my application including the location of the on/off switch. An in-line switch would likely be positioned behind the roll top, not convenient. The double adjustment arm allows me to position the lamp as desired.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
